Our History

Club History

The Lions club of Ivybridge was formed in the millennium year. Our first meeting was convened at ‘The Old Smithy’ in Ivybridge on 23rd May 2000.

Formation day was on the 5th June with our formation night being held in the Westward Inn at  Lee Mill on 7th July.  Charter night was held at the New Country Inn at Smithleigh on 23rd September 2000. The club has seen members come and go, a handful of Charter members still remain with the club and have seen the club develop from strength to strength.

The club currently meet on the 2nd Thursday of every month at 20:00 in the Watermark, Ivybridge & the 4th Thursday of Every Month at the Town Hall Ivybridge. The club is now 20 years old and continues to grow from strength to strength.

The “Lion”

The Lion is our club Mascot, Look out for Lion throughout the town, the Lion doesn’t bite just give the Lion a little wave. You may’ve seen the “Lion” at the Lions Funday, Christmas Parade or even Morrisons Outland Road. Find the Lion on Facebook, look for “Ivybridge Lion
